A newly released album of ten songs, this collection was recorded over the course of an approximate three year period between 2019 and early 2022. This is a very diverse collection, including instrumentals, and songs in the styles of blues, rock, pop, and country. The artwork for the cover of this album was drawn by my grandson, Derrick Covington.
Each of the songs on this album can be accessed from any of the major streaming services. For your convenience, you may go to this site to get the tracks on your favorite service:

As an Independent Artist, I am able to provide a selection of original music in a variety of styles. This is something the major labels avoid, as they perceive this approach is not “marketable”. Some may prefer the instrumentals, while others may prefer the more bluesy stuff. But it’s all there for you to enjoy. Pick your favorites and add them to your playlists!
You can also find the music (with occasional videos) on YouTube by searching “Jon Merritt Album”.
A brief description of each track follows, and the tracks are provided here as well:
Digitalic Age – A happy, upbeat instrumental that pairs well with a sunny drive along a coastal road.
Damage You’ve Done – A pain-filled pop ballad.
Gather Round My Grill – Up-tempo swinging blues piece that celebrates partying around the grill.
Grass Ain’t No Greener – Country-flavored mood piece.
Why – Up-tempo blues with a bit of tongue-in-cheek lyrics on infidelity.
No Bottom – Kind of a folksy dirge lamenting our divisions in society.
That Groove – Driving rock in the classic style.
Gator Hole – Based on a favorite party spot from my youth, this one is kind of a salute to Southern Rock.
Sacred Ground – A pure Blues piece inspired by a deal with the devil.
See You In My Dreams – And with the title track, we go out the way we came in, with a happy instrumental.
From this collection I hope you’ll find something that brings you enjoyment!
